January 24, 2011: Bruno Mars has toppled all the musicians of the British chart to claim the number one position at both the single and the album chart. The R&B singer topped both the charts on Sunday 23 with the single ‘Grenade’ and the album Doo-Wops & Hooligans. Bruno’s new album debuted and opened at the number one slot.
In spite of the roaring success of Adele’s ‘In the Deep’ charging to number two slot, Bruno’s ‘Grenade’ is firm in its number one slot in the British single chart. The top five in the chart is rounded by Jessie J’s ‘Do It Like a Dude’, who slips to number three. ‘Coming Home’ by Diddy-Dirty Money by Sean P. Diddy Comb’s band is at number four. Finally in position five is ‘Traktor’ by rapper Wretch 32.
The 25-year old American singer toppled Loud by Rihanna, and on the other hand Ritual by White Lies debuted at number three on the album chart in Britain. Rihanna and Eminem outnumbered everyone in 2010 British singles chart with their duet ‘Love The Way You Lie’, but now it is turn for another American, Bruno Mars to take over the British charts and he is ruling them both at the moment.
